Eucharist
What is the Eucharist?
- Eucharist is one of the three sacraments of Initiation...the Eucharist occupies a unique place as the "Sacrament of sacraments." (CCC 1211)
- Christ, at the Last Supper, instituted the Eucharistic sacrifice of his Body and Blood. (CCC 1323)
- The Eucharist, as the 'source and summit of the Christian life,' is not just a part but the very heart of our faith. All other sacraments, ecclesiastical ministries, and works of the apostolate are intertwined with the Eucharist and are directed towards it. In the blessed Eucharist, we find the entirety of the Church's spiritual good- Christ himself, our Pasch. (CCC 1324)
- In the Eucharistic celebration, we unite ourselves with the heavenly liturgy and anticipate eternal life, when God will be all in all. (CCC 1326)
