The parish was founded in 1955 and was named in honor of St. Pius X who as Pope established the Diocese of El Paso. Our present church facility was dedicated on June 26, 1993.
The theme of the parish master plan is Communion and Mission. We are a community centered on life with the Supreme Communion, the Triune God. Christ calls this community to the misison of fostering the kingdom of God.
Our parish logo illustrates the theme further: Jesus at the center of the altar table with one hand welcoming all to community around the table and with the other outstretched arm sending the community forth on it's mission.
Our facilities are built to strengthen community and mission. The architectural design follows the Vatican II norms for church buildings, the rich religous history and culture of the Catholic Southwest and the pastoral needs of the parish community.
Welcome to St. Pius X
It is a joy to welcome you to our wonderful Community of St. Pius X. We are a community with the mission of fostering the reign of God along the Border area. Our young community, founded in 1955, reflects the rich cultural diversity of the city. God has Blessed our parish with dedicated parishioners who offer leadership in ministry at all levels of parish life. Evangelization, RCIA, Small Communities, Colonia Ministry, Liturgy, Music, Marriage Prep, Prayer Training are some of the many key ministries in the parish. We are also very proud of our successful Catholic school, every year filled to capacity.
I hope you will make St. Pius X your home and family. The priests, deacons, and parish staff are at your service. You can also count on many of the parish ministries. Just call one of the Parish Ministry Council Members and we will be most happy to discuss with you all the possibilities.
Many find in St. Pius X Community a great place to come to know the Lord and to follow in His steps. We welcome the opportunity to share in this faith journey with you.
